Draftkings Flash Bet
DraftKings Sportsbook has introduced a new way to bet on the Wimbledon Championships this month.
“Flash Bet” is a new in-game betting option that allows bettors to follow a match and bet between points. After making a wager, players can follow their results and watch live stats of the contest — and then get paid within seconds of a point ending.

- In June 2019, an even more rapid form of in-play betting which DraftKings titled Flash Bet was introduced. This allows players to place short-term wagers as the game progresses, though currently, this is available exclusively for tennis. They hope to roll Flash Bet out for other sports in the coming future.

A better live-betting experience
Worried that DraftKings won’t have enough time to pay out bets, price new ones, and get everything up between the umpire’s call and the next serve? Think again.
Here’s how it works: Once bettors place their wagers via the FlashBet tab on the mobile or online DraftKings Sportsbook, they will be able to view a timeline of each bet and receive winnings immediately after the point is over.
“Embedded match graphics will show the ball as it moves across the court in real-time with descriptions of the service, points won and court type,” the company said in a release.

Flash Bet is currently exclusive to live tennis wagering for Wimbledon, but the product should be available for other ATP and WTA events, including the U.S. Open later in the summer.
DraftKings has found that the most popular sport for in-game betting in terms of market share is tennis. According to Dan Hannigan-Daly, 70 percent of handle comes from in-match action.
“It lends itself to live betting,” he said of tennis, which is more popular among bettors than the company’s DFS market. “We thought it would make a lot of sense to double down on that and create a much better experience than a very generic scoreboard.”
There’s been plenty of innovation during the spring and summer months from other online books in New Jersey. The first full calendar year of operation allows longer planning and opportunities to release new products like Flash Bet.
“This certainly gives us a point of differentiation between other competitors in the market,” Hannigan-Daly said. “We’re going to be gathering as much data as we can from the launch point and see how our users react to it and if we see positive signal I would imagine that we’ll move forward and try to build similar experiences for other sports.”
