Rules for In Between

Each player will ante before any cards are dealt. Once the antes are in, the dealer will begin to deal the first player to his left two cards face up. The player will bet on whether the third card dealt to him will fall between the first two cards. The bet is usually equivalent to the original ante but can be as much as half the pot. Once the player has made his bet, the dealer will deal the next card face up. If the player bet that the third card will fall in between the first two, the player wins and will take his bet from the pot.

If by chance the third card is higher, or lower than the initial two cards the player loses the hand and places his bet into the pot. His cards are then mucked.

If the third card ties either of his two initial cards, the player loses his hand and places double his bet into the pot.

If a player decides he doesn’t want to bet on his hand, he’ll fold his hand. As an example, a player would fold of they received a 5 and 7 as their first two cards.

After the first hand is complete, the dealer will continue with each player one at a time who will receive two up cards with the same betting options as the first player.

If you have a large number of players in the game, and the dealer runs out of cards the mucked cards will be reshuffled and the game continues as per normal. After each player has had at least one turn betting on their cards, the maximum bet can be increased to the pot size.

As an example, let’s suppose you have an A and choose to play for high and your second card is a 6. Your next card must fall between a 6 and A, which leaves you with a spread of 7 through K (possible 7 cards). If you had taken low and the six fell as your second card, your range of cards would leave you with 2 – 5, which means only 4 cards will give you a win.
